The majestic, 10,200-acre Tims Ford Lake is the centerpiece of Tims Ford State Park, where hiking trails, cabins and campgrounds are situated near amazing views over the placid water. Well-known for its excellent bass catches, fishing and boating are allowed on the lake, and a large L-shaped pool provides summertime swimming under the watch of a lifeguard. The park is located near the western edge of the lake, on the northern shore, about 13 miles by car from Winchester.
